Health Insurance in Texas and the people who have it could experience and potentially benefit from what is being touted as the most expansive healthcare legislation since the Affordable Care Act, assuming Blue-state lawmakers convince enough of their colleagues that the upcoming budget reconciliation bill is worth its weight in gold in terms of further benefiting millions of Americans who need affordable and flexible health insurance.

According to Yahoo Finance the upcoming legislation is rumored to be the biggest health expansion since the Affordable Care Act. Just a few of the progressive policy changes include expanding Medicare coverage to include dental, vision, and hearing. Medicaid could also see new life in states that haven’t done so under the ACA, which would provide coverage to 2.2 million more adults. Lawmakers are also interested in lowering prescription drug prices and avoiding a reduction in Medicare eligibility age. These are obviously big changes and could impact Americans who don’t yet have health insurance in Texas, according to the report above. The Washington Post’s Rachel Roubon was quoted in the article saying, under a leading option people would get free coverage on Obamacare’s marketplaces for several years, giving time for federal officials to create a new Medicaid-like program providing more robust benefits.”
Rick Thornton, a health insurance broker in Texas, who has the pleasure of working with individuals and families all across the country, said lawmakers are convinced that expanding existing coverage or adding in options that many Americans don’t quite have yet is another step in providing affordable healthcare for millions of Americans. The Biden administration opened a special window back in February for people to sign up for affordable healthcare, and though that window expired on August 15, lawmakers are looking for other ways to help.
